Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Soldeu Andorra 1st week of March - Advice sought

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi snowheads
snowHead snowHead
We need some advice please on what the snow is normally like in Andorra Soldeu in the first week of March Puzzled

We are thinking of going back for the first time in years, but have always gone first week of Feb in the past, but work means we can't get time off until March Sad
so we need to know whether it's worth it or not. There are some good deals on web at present. Is it because there's no snow.
thanks

Last couple of years the snow has been great beyond the end of the season, judging by threads on here. Plus Grand Valira is very well snow-cannoned.

When we last went (in January a couple of years ago) the snow was awful but, as someone else has said, they've got enough snow cannons to open quite a few runs if it is bad.

But .....last year the snow was really good from what I read and heard and this year is shaping up to be ever better - have been watchin the weather and webcams. First week of March is only 3 weeks away. We're flying out on 28 Feb and are really looking forward to it (staying in an apartment in Soldeu). We've gone DIY and got flights, car hire and accommodation for £178ish.

rob and sharon, In recent years the snow has seemed to come later in the season for Andorra..they have been closing the resort in April with metres of fresh snow.

The 1st week of March will be fine....they've got plenty at the moment, infact the Pyrenees looks to be having a pretty epic season this year. check out the thread in 'Snow reports'

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Do you mean March 2009 or are you planning for future years or something?? Puzzled March is only 3 weeks away and the Ski Club of GB says:

Andorra
Fresh snow has fallen at all of our reported Andorran resorts this week, refreshing the on and off piste snow cover and further snow showers are expected on Thursday. The Vallnord resorts, Arcalis (120/220cm) and Pal/Arinsal (110/210cm), report the deepest snow bases in Andorra. In fairness though, the conditions at all resorts are great this week and things should further improve with the snow that is forecast to land as we head in to the weekend.

Doesn't look like it will all melt in the next 3 weeks then.....

Concur with all of the above - I did a season in Soldeu and one in Pas, and both years we enjoyed some fantastic spring powder all through March and into April, and you can be sat outside a bar at the end of your day in a T-shirt long past when happy-our ends...!
