Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just returned from a great week in Selva and attention has turned to apossible 2nd trip. My budget is £1500.00 (all in). This is for the rest of 2009. So, do I,

a) Ski again
b) Lakes and Mountains type trip (Would like to go back to Dollies in the summer)
c) Self Drive West Coast of Scotland (always wanted to do it). (£1500 back to the UK economy)
d) Something else?

Would be happy doing any of them. If you've not been to the west coast of Scotland then it's definitely worth visiting.

Kramer,

Last time I was there was in 1996 with Aberdeen Uni sailing club, no idea where, but the pub was called Lord of The Isles. A fantastic weekend spent in a tent, in October. My first flaming Drambuie!!

johnboy, Ski again!! At the very least do a long weekend at the end of season in April when it's cheaper and if you pick the right place you'll get sun and powder and you'll still have your money to do a Lakes and Mountains trip as well. I reckon you'll kick yourself if you don't ski again this season.

West Coast of Scotland early April, avoid all the midges and get a few days of skiing at Aonach Mor and Glencoe.

johnboy, Thats easy Madeye-Smiley option a)

because
a) you could be dead later in the year
b) you could be out of work and then really wished you had gone, as you will use the money for something else
c) someone may have left you some money later in the year, so you can still do a summer trip
d) you win the lottery later in the year and can do anything you want

Had you booked two weeks in Selva originally, you wouldnt have needed £1500 to fund it Toofy Grin

Folks, I love skiing, but times are hard and I like to do other things too, mainly sociallising and flying light aircraft. Still need a break in the summer, so skiing may lose out this year

johnboy, I love the West coast - Torridon is truly majestic. However...ski man, the season has been phenomenal. Why take the risk of rubbish weather, not so good food and accommodation, when you can have an exhilirating week on the piste?

Alastair,

Would make a great trip, but would blow the budget on fuel alone!!

Why can't you do a) and c)?

We are going skiiing for a week to Grand Bornard in March and the total budget for 4 of us is £2000 - this includes accommodation, flights, lift passes, ski hire, food, car hire, travel insurance, parking, gas, everything.... for two of you surely you could it for a lot less?

and you can still "do" the West Coast of Scotland - just take a tent and do it out of the midge season! We did three weeks in France last August for less than £1500 and that's a lot more mileage, ferry crossings and camp-sites at £40+ per night and again everything included for 4 of us.
