Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm off to banff tomorrow and to my untrained eye it looks like it might be a bit warm with little new snow.

Can anyone tell me what the chances are of there being any decent snowfall in the next week at Lake Louise or Sunshine Village?

smudger, they're pretty good, I think. Whatever happens with the snow it will be a superb trip. Don't be disheartened if there's no/little snow in Banff town.

hyweljenkins, thanks.

I am a little worried by the slightly warm temperatures and lack of snow on the horizon but I've never been skiing outside of Europe before and am really excited...I think I just worry too much!

smudger, I went to the Big Three in April a couple of years ago. We ended up with >20cm of fresh champagne powder every night for four nights. I was there for the closing week for Norquay and thought it a bit limiting in choice of terrain, but Sunshine and Lake Louise were superb.

You won't be disappointed, but you might come back having realised that there's little point skiing in Europe any more. Service, efficiency, value and friendliness are all so much better over there.

I had an email from Sunshine at the weekend to confirm that they had had 29cm in the preceding 3 days. The conditions should be fine. Enjoy the blue skies if you get them, the scenery is unbeatable. If you get fresh snow,- even better! Give banff a chance and you'll love it. We are going in 3 weeks time and can't wait.

they've had 45cm in the last 7 days... worry not.

keep an eye out here http://www.skibanff.com/conditions/snow_report.php and also on the main Banff snow report thread on this very website. Reality in Banff seems to be good at keeping everything up to date.

I was there on Sunday, conditions were good to great. We have had some snow recently but also a lot of wind on Friday and Saturday. This caused significant problems with lifts closing on those two days, but also had a knock on effect for snow conditions. In some exposed areas the recent snow fall was all blown away and all that remained was a hard packed base Sad . In other areas the blown snow had been deposited giving deeper powder than the amount of actual snowfall snowHead

Of course those shrewd enough to book a tour with the Snowhosts were shown exactly where the secret stashes were wink

(for those of you that don't know, I am a Sonwhost at Sunshine every Sunday)
