scarr, I agree with easiski, Newlands Corner would be good.
I have very fond memories of a Christmas ?1969 when I asked for (and received) a toboggan and there was oodles of snow for both Christmas Day itself and Boxing Day. I don't suppose one can just turn up and toboggan on the golf course any more but there were loads of people there as I remember it.

Nick L, you certainly can turn up at the golf course...We just got back from a session there and are getting in a cup of tea and hot cross buns for apres ski.
It is public land...and the public were there witha whole variety of sledges, boarders, skiers and assorted slidy objects.

rungsp, good to hear, glad you had a good time. I have a remarkably clear memory of tobogganing down the further hill (to the left from the road) on my brand-new traditional Davos sledge (which is still in my shed incidentally).

scarr, The Mount is always worth a day trip, runs quite steep at bottom, very much like LDA only a little smaller.
