Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

HELP........problems trying to fix up accomodation in Obertauern

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Fellow snowHead this is a plea for help……

I'm desperately trying to find some accomodation in Obertauern for the first week in March (from 28th Feb for 7 nights). The hotel (Bogensperger) that I thought I had booked with now says that they do not have a room for me. Flights have been booked, so I'm up against it a little……

Any ideas?

It does not have to be anything flash - 3 star ish, just a room, B&B, half board, no food, it really doesn't matter. And at the moment it is just accomodation for me - my other mates are fixed. Ok we may end up staying in different places, but if it is still in Obertauern village, it's not a big deal

I've had recommendations of various hotels, the Krallinger and Schneider being a couple, but these either have no availability or are two pricey. I'm happy to pay around 100 euro a night, but if I have to book a double at 125 euro per person, it is really getting a bit rich for me

Any help would be gratefully received and much needed!

Hi - Ive stayed at the Perner in Obertauen, my business partner has stayed at both the Perner and the Steiner both are good. I'm not sure about your budget though.
Good Skiing (if a little limited) but normally loads of snow and good Apres

Sleipnir, as cathy says. Tourist Offices are usually very helpful.

Sleipnir,
We used the Hotel Garni Taurach last year, its a pretty standard B&B hotel but in a great central location (possibly a little too close to the apres action rolling eyes ) and whilst I can't remember the cost exactly it was pretty cheap (for Obertauern).
Good luck

I stayed in the Tauerner Wisenegg couple of years ago. Nice 3 star but 10-15 mins walk from though. That was reasonably priced at the time just a relatively small supplement for a single room.

A quick update - I managed to sort myself out a room at the Hotel Kohlmayr - http://www.hotel-kohlmayr.at/english/index.html

By the sounds of it, the last single room in the whole of Obertauern (well it feels like that the number of "sorry we are full" replies I've had!) Nice hotel though Very Happy Very Happy

Roll on the 1st week in March!!!

Thanks once again for all of the suggestions and advice

Lesson to self.........don't leave it so bleedin late to book accomodation at a very small, but popular resort wink

As has been said have you tried through the web site ..it has an online booking service

If you have any trouble and need to look further I stayed at the
http://www.petersbuehel.at
a really nice hotel that I can thoroughly recommend stayed there twice so far
Ring up Peter Aichmann or Claudia and enquire ..he speaks perfect English
You can ski out and ski back to the door if there is enough snow

the transfers are the cheapest I have found and efficient too
http://www.obertauern.com/from-to-Salzburg.128.0.html?&L=1
and they do take credit cards but you have to ring them
