Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Queyras Ski Area

Could anyone please give me some information on the Queyras ski area.

Are the villages lift linked?

Is it worth visiting if we don't go off-piste?

Any other information would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Smile

You'll have to be more specific. Which villages?

Not sure I'd ever want to ski there other than ski-touring but Arvieux is a nice village (as ar many others) but they aren't linked and have pretty limited pisted / lift served skiing. However I can highly recommend the hotel http://www.lesfermes.com/.

dsoutar, aH...Yes, have been up in the summer. A beautiful place but not somewhere I would want to spend a hard earned week off skiing if I was sticking to piste. Might be ok if you want a tiny potter about, and then go sledging? snowHead

Might need more local knowledge then!

MarjMJ, dsoutar, Thanks for the feedback. The information that I have found indicates that it is a very beautiful area, but maybe a little limited even for us.

dsoutar, One day, when I have a few more weeks holiday, I'll definately be giving ski-touring a go! Smile

the Queras isn't a "ski area" - it is a region in the Southern Alps in France. there are numerous small resorts. looks like a fun place to base yourself with a car and try different areas, mix a bit of touring in etc

snowHead filingle has a place in the area:

www.alpinebreak.com

the website has descriptions of some of the nearby ski areas
