Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Reliable Small/Medium Tour Operators

Planning a trip for the 28/29th March for a six peeps and need a heads-up on catered chalets but with a small/medium TO that specialises in chalets.

Went with YSEski last year on the advice of someone on snowHeads and loved it - great service - but for the emd of March their prices might be a little out of reach for our budget. Also been with Alpine Elelements to Les Gets, who were okay, but not amazing.

Anyone got suggestions of any good, reliable, fun and keenly-prced chalet TOs that they've used and would recommend?

Don't mind having to DIY the flights if the price is right, but all-in (flights/transfers/chalet board) would be better. I've typed in a few searches but Google comes up with a lot of vague results.

Looking at France, particularly Les Gets (or somewhere else in the PDS), the 3 Vallees or Paradiski.

Cheers in advance if you can offer some pointers Smile

*(Mods - if this is in the wrong area feel free to move it Smile )

Specialman, we're heading out next week for our second trip with Powder White (own travel). They have chalets in the 3V, Val d'I and a couple of other places. Last trip was a last-minuter in April and they were fine; admin stuff so far has been good. I believe they pay their staff more than the big mass-market operators so they put a little more effort in... They are also organised for peeps arriving early and leaving late to get a couple of extra days' skiing in. Will report back after next week Wink

Ski Power - la tania. Two excellent holidays with them. One not quite as good but do recommend them.. We drove out and stayed the night before in the Ibis which gave us an extra day on the slopes.

Ski Olympic and Silver Ski. Sadly they only do Tarentaise resorts but I/we have lots of experience with both.

Try http://www.finlayski.com/ they have chalets in Courchevel for the 3V, also La Plagne and Val d'Isere where I am staying right now. There is this thread about one of their Courchevel chalets. I have had several holidays with Finlays.

Specialman, 7 of us went with Ski Morzine last year. Nice new chalet in an excellent location (<100m from Super Morzine lift), very slick transfers from Geneva included, good food and helpful chalet staff...

pam w, Le Ski were too expensive for us as with a group we like to book on the early side - Le Ski's special offers you linked to elsewhere are about what we have paid full price with Powder White. Powder White seem pretty good VFM. They also give 10% discount to returning customers (nice for us, esp since we only paid 299 in April, had a 12-person chalet and 2 chalet staff to ourselves!)

Ski Beat have some great chalets in Plan-Peisey - they've got a collection of 5 near 'la vache' restaurant that look really nice. The staff are a little older than some of the average as well, so there's a good chance your chalet host can cook...
