Chaudanne at Meribel and Croisette at 1850. How long would it take and which is the easier drive?
Thanks a lot

La Tania to Meribel is about 10 minutes, via Meribel Village. La Tania to Courchevel 1850 is much longer, via La Praz, 1550, 1650, then 1850 about 20 mins. Road to Meribel is pretty flat, but it doesn't get cleared quite so quickly after fresh snow as road to Courchevel, as there's much less traffic.

There are free buses in both directions too. Run about every hour to the Courchevels and 4 or 5 a day to Meribel.
New for this season is a direct service to La Chaudanne (you used to have to change at Meribel Village).

kkev, Thanks a lot. Is it possible to go as a pedestrian on the lifts in either direction?

sarah,
Yes it is possible to get from Courchevel 1850 to Meribel as a pedestrian on the lifts in both directions although you will need to do a short walk at the top of the Saulire from Burgin-Saulire bubble (Meribel) to the Saulire cable car which is uphill when going towards Courchevel. You need to change lifts at the bottom of Saulire cable car to/from one of the bubbles that go to Courchevel (Verdons I think).

From La Tania to 1850 on lifts is possible - via LT gondola and Lanches chair then a bit of a hike (say 10/15 mins) to Chenus gondola and down to 1850. Not really practical La Tania to Meribel (unless via 1850 as Trenmold says above of course). Snow shoe walks to both Courchevel & Meribel from the top of the La Tania gondola via the track used by the Cross Country skiers are possible though - a good hour and a bit mind.

Trenmold, kkev, thanks for this. Looks like best option is bus or car to Meribel then

sarah, Id suggest that neither 1850 nor Meribel are practicall to get to as a pedestrian via the lifts. There is a direct lift to 1850 from 1550 though, that may be a consideration. If you drive to Cv1850, parking can be an issue. You'll get towed real quick if you're not careful. I got grief for just unloading outside my hotel. There is a underground parking though and although that can get busy, there is usually space.
