Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cortina - skiing area tips please

 Poster: A snowHead

I am going to be Arabba with a car in Feb. I thought we'd try out Cortina for a day as we have transport. Any tips on good and bad runs/lifts/mountain restaurants and any general advice would be welcome.

Cheers !

Certainly worth a visit. There are two separate main areas - Faloria and Tofana - and a cable car takes you to the respective area. The two cable cars are on the opposite sides of the town center (one is actually in town center - well almost, the other slightly outside). Both areas are interesting in their own way (Faloria maybe a little more so) and have exciting runs to try. VERY picturesque (don't forget your camera).
The mountain restaurants are generally small and get busy so going for lunch early (not much later then 12:00) would save you time. Plus some of them are reachable by car (on the Tofana side) and a lot of non-skiing folks go there too.
Although the cable cars are ancient they are surprisingly fast and when you get to the slopes the lifts are generally fine, altho there a couple which are really old.

Other than that... I hope you are not anti FUR Smile
