Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Big fat comfy boots for cuboid feet?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Currently on Tecnica Rival X9 boots to accomodate my short, high, wide feet. There's nothing wrong with them but there's always the lure of shiny new kit. And someone's got to help spend our way out of this recession.

So.... what's the current boot of choice for those with a fat foot?

Higs, depends on how much performance you are looking for and the actual shape of the foot,

head edge, head S series Atomic B tech Tecnica Vento, Nordiac sport machine are all pretty high volume

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Higs, I have wide feet with a high instep - I wondered if I would have problems with getting a boot to fit. The Head Edge range sorted me out as CEM suggested.

Higs, My boot fitter told me that I "had a good, solid, grip on the earth" Embarassed .....think that means I've got wide feet. She put me in the Head Edge 10 and I've had no problems even though they are a size and a half smaller than the ones I was wearing before Shocked But, like CEM says, everyones feet are different.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Higs, I've got awkwardly wide feet with a high instep and big calfs and I've got a pair of Head Edge 10.2 and like ickabodblue, these are 1-2 sizes smaller than i used to wear when I hired!

In my old (very tight) boots I used to wear my wife's nothing but my wife's pop socks.

Fortunately this was in the days before digital photography.

There is absolutely no reason for you to wear anything thicker.

Higs, hang on, run that by me again... your wife allowed you to wear something very tight - or was it that is was popular to wear nothing but her socks? Either way I concur that a digi-photo would have not been pleasant.

comprex I agree there is no reason for big thick wooly socks. Unless you get cold feet I suppose. I wear Falke SK4's apparently a "pro race" sock, I don't race, I just think its a comfy sock thats the right size and for once not to thick

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

the edge is one option, probably not the best performing option but an option none the less, if it fits and fulfills the needs as a skier then no problems
