Just back from six days in Morzine.
The snow cover is a little thin in places there has been very mild weather with a lot of melt on south facing slopes. High winds have affected many of the higher slopes as well. Lower shady slopes are firm.
There is plenty of good snow to be found on higher sheltered slopes but even here exposed rocks and stones are a consistent nuisance.
If you are about to go I would strongly recommend hiring skis if you have new ones

Good Luck with the snow, there is enough to ski on at the moment but it is definately a little thin and will not be improving since I left.

Just back at midnight last night. Very sketchy in places, especially over around les Crosets. Runs around Arare, Chamossiere, Ranfolly holding up pretty well, but the snow is desperately thin. Lower slopes have been freeze/thaw and are very icy in patches. Hiring skis is definitely the way to go as there are small stones and pebbles scattered all over the place. Snow forecast for this week. Meteo apparently says today, but an old man in Morzine apparently says it will snow on the 20th, as that is the new moon.

Its snowing today! just got back this morning. They have the snowmakers running non stop which means unbashed slopes have dust over icy layers - bit dodgy in Morzine-Les Gets. Best conditions I found were at Linderets up to Avoriaz. But the fresh dump today should be lovely after they have bashing it down.

Roy Hockley, Me and my mate said that it would be good if the sun came out monday for the rest of the week, we'll have to wait and see.
Not sure if we can be tied down during the day to a meet up time. nice idea tho.
keep an eye out for my desert camo jacket (with fur trim around hood) and very orange boots.

Off to Les Gets on Sunday for a week. Hopefully should be getting around the whole PdS, and the forecast is looking good (apart from rain at resort level).
Any one know if the reciprocal agreement with Flaine is on again this year, where you can trade 1day of the PdS week pass for a day in Flaine (& vice versa) ?

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

andy, Acording to www.grand-massif.com the arrangment works from Flaine to PdS so I presume the reverse is true. Worth a trip if you can. Ise might be able to advice the best way in to Le Grand Massif from les gets.

The closest point to Les Gets is Morillon, takes us 20 mins going the other way. No idea about the pass, season passes get that sort of deal but I've no idea about week passes.
