Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Nordic GT-s 8 boots - Help there Hurting!!!!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I bought a pair of Nordica gts-8 boots and used them last time I went skiing. I had my feet measured at a shop and I have modo 285 (size 10). I am usually an 10 1/2 to an 11 in normal shoes.

The problem is when I have been skiing for say 1/2 an hour I get real bad pain in the side/base of my feet. The pain is real bad but if I endure it for a while the pain goes. But when I stopped, say for dinner the pain came back, just a bad. I had the boots heated up as they have thermo linings when I was at the resort but this did not help.

The boots have no insoles fitted. Do you think this may help or any ideas why they could be doing this. I am going skiing again in feb so need to get this problem solved.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

uggitt, Welcome to snowHeads snowHead
I'd recommend a trip to Bicester to see CEM www.solutions4feet.co.uk to get some Footbeds sorted.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Welcome to snowHeads uggitt.

I'd second a trip to Bicester...

...but it's worth bearing in mind that even well-fitted ski boots can take some time to bed in. I had some new ski boots that caused the same type of pain, but bedded in after 6-7 days.
