Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone got any info on ski hire in Claviere?
Ideally I'd like something on-line so I can get it all sorted before we go but if the best place is a local shop, that's fine too.

Hi I went to claviere last easter with crystal, dont use the hire shop by the ski school, go across the road next to the supermarket, a far more superior service and equipment for almost the same price, crystal sends everyone to to the other one so its jam packed and they rush you!! where are you staying?
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We're in Hotel Miramonti.
I've driven through Claviere some time ago but ever skied there. I don't know the lay-out of the town - is it just strung along that main road?
We have friends staying in the Club Hotel Grande Claviere. I don't suppose you remember if they're close?

Hi Yes its very close, we stayed at the Grande Claviere the Miramonti is yards away (if I;m thinking straight) its all along the main road, fairly quiet with a nice market at the weekend selling local cheese, wine etc, just behind the grande claviere there is a track that you ski on to the lifts, better than walking! and you can ski back to the hotel on a red run (not a difficult red) or you can ski to France! I loved Claviere and preferred the skiing there rather than Montgenevre, pretty tree lined runs nothing too challenging! Montgenevre is bigger, wide open motorway skiing if you like that sort of thing. if i can find the map and details etc I;ll let you know, or anything else I can help with.
