Poster: A snowHead

How do people go about drying out moulded boots? Mine are pretty damp (sweat and snow I think...nice) but am very reluctant to put them near a radiator due to the heat moulding.
Am I being over cautious?
Think I will end up putting them at the bottom of the airing cupboard, surely that can't be hotter than your feet get when skiing hard?
Thanks,
Ed

Ed, take the liners out of the boots and sit them beneath a radiator (this avoids leaving a rather fruity smell in the airing cupboard). This should dry the boots overnight without affecting any moulding.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

NAKEDZOOKEEPER, should footbeds be taken out of the liners?

Thanks NAKEDZOOKEEPER, they're drying under the radiator now (and I've put the shells in the airing cupboard to get the moisture out).
achilles, I hope you can, as that's what I've done. They were very damp underneath so can't see it will any harm.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ed Ludlow, I do find those dryzone bags are fantastic. Just pop them in the liners overnight and dry the things on top of radiators the next day.

You would be very to find out just how much fluid exists in your boots after a days skiing.

I've used a set of dryzone bags for a few years and think they're brilliant. A good microwaving dries the bags nicely too but does leave a rather booty smell in the oven afterwards ... when in France the people staying after us probably just thought we liked fonduing.

Ed Ludlow - I use the DryZone boot dryers and they work very well.
The Thermic boot dryers are also fine (very good in fact if you have foamed boots!).
