Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Nickski, check out this site, it's pretty comprehensive:
http://www.feiertagskalender.ch/ferien.php?geo=0&jahr=2007&klasse=5&hl=en
Italy varies by region, some have none, others e.g. South Tyrol have the 'Carnevale' week that includes Shrove Tuesday (Feb 24th 2009) and Veneto just have a long weekend that includes that Tuesday.
Bavaria in Germany, Belgium & Southern Netherlands all also have w/c Feb 22nd, a big consideration for Austria & NE Italy. Stockholm half-term is also this week, but I read on another thread that seems to be an attraction to some who frequent St Anton.
Austria itself varies by region, but Tyrol is w/c Feb 8th.
Hope this helps.
