Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone know if there are any big bashes planned at any of the snowdomes for NYE?

Thought it would be an ideal opportunity for wintery festivities here in the UK with like-minded souls but there seems to be little in the way of news on the websites.

I hope so because I really don't want to see in the NY with a glass of rank homebrew playing Call Of Duty 4 on the XBox with a load of annoying yanks!!! Smile

Shocked sounds grim. I expect to be tucked up in my bed in the Alps, with a skinful of some quite high quality vino, hopefully listening to the sound of silence of snow falling steadily outside the window. Ever since I lived in Scotland and struggled desperately to stay awake all night (as anything less was just regarded as too pathetic) I have felt no particular urge to "see the new year in". I'm happy to get up bright eyed and bushy tailed on the 1st of January, preferably after a night's snowfall, and launch myself down a few slopes before the revellers are out of bed.

Likewise I will be in bed - alas not in the Alps! Bored of NYE now.

Well I know someone knows someone who is going to Chill Factor-eeee for New Year, but don't know what exactly is happening. Worth giving them a call?

Edited to add, I shall be not in the snow for new year, but in Cannes with friends, so lovely time to be had despite the lack of snow (and I believe Isola is not that far away!)

I shall be in the Hotel Europe in Monetier with a party of 16 others, eating a fabulous 5 course dinner including wine, champagne toast, and cocktails in the bar beforehand , followed by dancing in the cellar to 70's pop. Even with the current exchange rate it is good value.

Very Happy

Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Really surprised that there's so little going and if there is anything, it's not being promoted.

Nadenoodlee, my missus is working so i have to stay off the booze (well, a pint or so is all I'm allowed  – I have to pick here up at 7am on New years day) but to be honest, NYE isn't a massive thing for me any more. I much prefer Christmas day. Snowboarding would be cool but I suppose the Xbox is a cheap last resort Smile

I'm off xc skiing next week and in the place we stay at in the wilds of Washingston state, a few years ago the new owner planned a big surprise party for the guests. He bought loads of fireworks and laid on snacks, drink etc. Come 12am, the place was empty - everyone had gone to bed !

Now everone celebrates it at 9pm (12am in New York). Means we get to see in the New Year and don't feel lazy the next morning ! Maybe this is just another sign of getting old

Plus £12 extra if you want to go on the slope, saw it advertised today when I went to S&R for some hot wax. Have to ask myself why though.
