doogo, yes, but shows you shouldn't be too hasty. It's actually a perfectly rational question for a beginner to ask. And if they were a beginner telemarker the answer might be "yes".

2. Can I buy coffee in France?

4. I have not skied yet but I want to be a ski teacher - how do I do it?
5. Which resort will I like best? (no other information offered)

Brace yourselves ....
On my first ski trip to Soell, the rental skis were marked R and L. I 'naturally' thought that this was the case with all skis and funnily enough had a very hard time convincing MrRibena on subseqent trips that he must be daft if he couldn't see that the right and left skis were obviously different.

Mine were the GS skis: Beta Race 9.28 . As far as I recall Atomic SLs have never been asymmetric apart from the tip/tail protectors and maybe graphics.

These are all actual questions which I have been asked:-
1) I have a group of between 4 and 19 people - what have you got for New Year? (this was asked yesterday)
2) I'm going to Les Gets at the end of March - will I need snow chains (asked in September)
3) We are a group of beginners, and we'd like ski in / ski out - does that mean it will be on a slope?
4) We've booked a studio apartment for 4 - can we bring two extra people? One of them isn't very tall......
5) We aren't arriving until 11 pm - will the supermarket be open?
It's just as well I love my job

- What <<insert>> should I buy? (no information or context given)
- I've never been to a resort. Could please semi-organise my skiing holiday for me by giving me an itinerary of lifts, runs and restaurants I could print out a follow?
- I'd like to go somewhere that's snow sure, chocolate box pretty, offers ski-in ski-out, is in the centre of town, offers a great range of shops, has a Michelin-starred restaurant, is within 30 minutes of an international airport and isn't too expensive. Where would you recommend?
- Will there be snow in the Portes du Soleil in March?
- I'm and expert skier and don't need lessons. What would you recommend that I do?

My father was once on a trip with a then-unknown UK actor who did just this. Didn't do him much harm in the long run as he still got to romp around with Sharon Stone...

I have a gift shop in the North West Highlands of Scotland where the mountains are rocky and no place for cattle, what cattle we have are Highland coo's and tend to roam the roads looking for grass on the verges.
So some one comes into my shop and asks if we sell cow bells? I sent them to Switzerland

Not the stupidest but I thought it was funny. A beginner skier looked out the window at breakfast, it was snowing too hard to see much. She asked the group - Should I phone the ski school to see if lessons are cancelled?

My son, going round some cold, dark and dusty heap of Scottish heritage somewhere,at about 9 years old, asked the curator who was showing us round whether a figure at the turn of a staircase was a Samurai Warrior. "Nee sonny, yon's a Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeland Chieftain", he answered, affronted, in the best "Mr Mackay" manner you've ever seen. He even walked like him.
