Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pipe Gloves

Anyone experienced 'pipe gloves' ?

How waterproof are they (eg Grenade gloves), how warm, any general opinions?

Richie_S, I used to ski in 'pipe gloves' in the spring, my experience - fine for waterproof, but no surprise occasionally cold. I now ski in Dakine Cobra GTs, which are still small, low volume and I wear them all year apart from the very coldest bits in January.

I quite like them, they always look nice so it depends on whether you get cold hands or not...

Richie_S, I have Level gloves which are thin. Mine do tend to get wet but my hands never get cold.

Richie_S, My bro had some Grenade ones, his hands were forever cold as they seemed to have loads of little vent holes in them (the gloves not his hands)...and he tends to get a lot of snow around the wrist which isn't well protected. He ended up getting some liners which improved them a little bit. He's now to stubborn to get new ones after we mocked him for getting such tiny gloves just because they match his salopettes. rolling eyes

....but... my bro is a wuss and he's always moaning about being cold anyway.

I don't know what they would be like for people who tend to get cold hands (as I don't) - but I love my Leather Dakine Broncos.
I nearly bought another pair as a back up, but I bought some RAB Baltoro Softshells which are lovely (and cheap).
