Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommendations for a cracking NYE party please

We are staying in Villars for 10 days but are thinking of having a change of scene for NYE in order to find some more exciting nightlife.

Can anyone recommend any parties / events in the surrounding area? Tignes looks like it has some great stuff on (we would be up for shaking a leg to a good DJ), but it's a bit far away. Anything in Chamonix / Argentiere / Avoriaz / Morzine / Verbier etc?

hazza, the problem will be finding somewhere to stay, unless you're not planning on sleeping!

Verbier goes OFF on NYE, but that means highish prices for parties and club entries. Awesome-wicked-sick is what the kids call it I think. Wink Cocos will be £££ but cool, Farinet / Casbah will have superb DJs, not sure about this year but Hedkandi usually provide the party.

Not sure about the other places.

For a more traditional NY party with big name DJs also think about heading down to lake Geneva. Lausanne is a cool town with a good party scene...

Thanks a lot for the suggestions parlor - I will investigate these, much appreciated.

Yes I think the accommodation might end up being the stumbling block, we were hoping to see what we can find, even staying an extra night or two either side. It may be impossible.

Anyone other ideas gratefully received.
