Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Another footbed question.....

At the risk of sounding like a bit of an amateur, can I have some advice on moulded footbeds....

I splashed out last season on some Atomic race boots, and the nice man in Snow and Rock tried his very best to 'upsell me' on some £80 moulded footbeds too. Having forked out over £250 on the boots I politely declined! I used the boots as they were for 3 weeks last season and absolutely loved them, best boots I've had by a distance.... Didn't have any issues what so ever.

Now that the new season is coming around, I need to buy some obligatory new kit/toys to make myself feel better in the agonising wait for Meribel on 3rd Jan...... Would custom moulded footbeds really make a big difference considering I was perfectly happy with the standard boots???? Are there any potential down-sides to them? Any particular brands or models that people would recommend? Thanks!

jon,

not many down sides that i can think about, it really depends on the shape and flexibility of your arch, a well made superfeet or conformable footbed is a great investment, a badly made one is not, it is all about the guy/gal making them rather than the product....

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Cheers CEM.... On that basis anyone in London you can recommend?.... Or can you sort something out for me in Bicester?!?!?! What sort of prices are we talking? Would I need my boots with me, as they are in storage at the moment!

no problem doing one here, cost wise £90 -£100 for a cork based vacuum cast insert [probably £90 in that boot dependant on your foot]. it is always best to have the boots as we can interface the insert to the boot exactly rather than guessing

hope that helps
