Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I have ski cover on my policy at the moment but the single item cover is terrible- well its £250 and my new skis cost £600! Anyone got any insurance cover they can recommend?

Please can we avoid posts that say something along the lines of "hire them in resort you idiot!" NehNeh

Boredsurfing, agreed - I used them for a few years - but there is some doubt about their back-country and touring cover.

tbanting, How did you manage to spend £600?! Thats 2 pairs for me, and about 5 for some snowHeads. What have you got?

We've got direct travel too - very reasonable (and recommended in the Torygraph!?!) though have not yet had to claim so don't know how good when it hits the fan!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Blimey, Direct Travel should pay snowHead for all these comments!

Jagerbull, That's good to know - I've seen a lot of recommendations and I'm with them but I hadn't heard from anyone who's ever had to claim. I wouldn't have even thought to claim for broken sunglasses! I'm trying to remember whether I was with them when I broke mine. Laughing

Agree with everyone above - their cover seems very comprehensive. Not sure on single item limits but their T+Cs are on their website.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

I'm currently with Direct Travel but won't be when renewal comes up shortly. Claimed for OH's ruptured ACL at the last EOSB - pain in the ar$e getting money out of them, pointless delays involved (several requests for doctor's reports that had already been sent multiple times), tried to deduct an excess when I'd paid an excess waiver, tried to say that taxi back from medical centre in Meribel to Val T wasn't covered etc etc.

However, we disputed all of these things and got the money back in full eventually.

I'm considering going back to Dogtag this season, although someone has also recommended Foggs to me, having had to claim with them with no problems at all.

SamM, Ironically I have gone from Fogg to Dogtag ( www.dogtag.co.uk ) this year as having clarified their off piste cover I felt Dogtag offer a wider cover and more personal service plus in my case a better price for annual familty cover Very Happy
