Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski, board, telemark etc. Why did you choose to do what you do for your first choice snow weapon

OK, so I know there will be a few that say they do more than one thing, and some will say it depends what the snow is like, but if you have a preferred weapon on the snow what made you choose it over any other option

I was 3 so didn't get much of a choice I guess, don't think I could have coped on tmarks at that age! Learned to snowboard but just didn't enjoy it as much as skiing, intend to use it at some point in the future but not seriously..

I'm a late-in-life convert to the pleasures of playing in the snow & also a manual worker. In looking at the predominant injuries in skiing & boarding, I decided I can still earn a living with a broken leg ( skiing), I can't with a broken wrist ( boarding). As for telemark, I'm only willing to make life so difficult for myself !!

Had no choice on my school's first trip (my first introduction to snowsports), and when they gave the option to snowboard on the next trip I decided that the first week of skiing had been difficult enough (it was, truly, horrendous I can assure you) so I wasn't going to spend another week of being 'first week'. So, I skied. Good choice in the end, it was excellent, I went from being virtually unable to stand up after a week to skiing in control on most reds by the end of my second week. Cool

I think the word is ditherer. Not good enough to tele all the time, knees not good enought to ski all the time. In a world ot shrinking baggage allowances its a very mixed blessing!
