Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Nothing but good news to report for the first weatherHead of the season.
The season has got off to a great start, with a massive dump across the Alps seeing many resorts getting up to half a meter of snow in the past week or two... In France there have been reports of both Serre Chevalier and Tignes getting up to 20cm of fresh snow in the past week. Some intrepid souls in Serre Che took advantage of the conditions by hiking up to get some fresh tracks down. Conditions on the Grande Motte glacier are reported to be fantastic – knee deep powder compared to last year's sheet ice and 'crazed ramblings' from snowHeads at the Birmingham ski show who had just jetted in from Tignes seemingly unable to stop repeating the phrase '70cm of powder' until we had to knock them out for their own safety

In Italy, Switzerland and Austria conditions have been much the same. The WC Snowboard Halfpipe event in Saas-Fee last week was cancelled due to the conditions, and Bormio has opened an entire month early after snowfall of 70cm. The white stuff has also been sighted in the Sella Ronda, Flims/Laax, and Zermatt. And despite a shaky start, there is even currently snow in Levi, Finland Smile

Snow has been falling in the Pyrenees too. Several snowHeads have posted some truy amazing photos of the conditions. Some reports have estimated between 40cm and 150cm lying in some areas. In Arcalis, 175cm of pisted snow has been reported at 2350M. Masella has also opened early, several weeks ahead of its planned opening date of the 22nd November.

The good news continues in Northern America. Tremblant has been blasted by snow in the past few days, and Mammoth Mountain opened Monday - 10 days earlier than planned - after 45cm of snow landed on their doorstep. Reports and pictures from other North American resorts are otherwise scarce at the minute, but we hope this will improve as the season gets underway.

In other news, The Lecht and Cairngorm both opened several runs last weekend, making them the first resorts in Europe to offer lift-served non-glacial skiing. In addition, conditions at Glenshee have also been skiable, although only to those willing to hike it. Some amazing photos of the conditions can be found on Winterhighland

Just an early season reminder: we rely on you to post your reports in snow reports.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed snow reports and pictures on the forum, and fingers crossed that the run of good weather continues!
