Poster: A snowHead

Im skiing Arabba for a week in january. My EJ flight gets me into Marco Polo late friday evening & the transfer coach only runs from the airport on saturdays. Can anyone recommend a budget hotel within striking distance of the airport please?

eng_ch, nigel b, thanks for those suggestions. Have only just started looking as I'm still hoping a small miracle will happen & I'll find someone driving that way on the friday night & be able to bludge a ride, thus getting an extra day on the slopes saturday. I'll probably post a question about that nearer the time, but meanwhile shall plan contingencies

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

nickH, then deffo consider an Ibis as you can usually cancel foc up to about 6pm on the day of arrival. Not as budget as Etap or Formule 1 of course, but with facilities and a decent bed usually

eng_ch, a decent bed is all my aged bod needs, so will check ibis out. Near airport also important to avoid daft taxi fares etc

nickH, forget my suggestion - I just had a look at the Accor site and there doesn't seem to be anything less than a Sofitel and that's 10km from the airport. Sorry!
Have you looked at the airport's web site?

eng_ch, not yet, thought to try the personal recommendation route first before trawling the various search engines in my 'favourites' list, though I suppose I should start soonish as it's the cheapies that go first

Did a bit of work around there last year and drove around a fair bit out toward Jeselo. For the life of me I cant remember any budget hotels or signs for them.
There is an Marriot airport hotel but it was expensive when the company put me up there and frankly not worth it even though I wasn't paying. Its couple of minutes on the no5 bus or 15 min walk. Last bus was around midnight as well
