Can anyone recommend where i can get discounted ski wear (08/09 season)? I usually buy in Snow & Rock or Ellis Brigham but their prices are always so high, or so it seems! Anyone know any discounts, promotions or good sites to buy gear from?

Bowenag, welcome to Snowheads.  Get to your nearest T K Maxx, fast. Sort through the tat and you should find some really good gear, cheap. But if you want to get the latest 08/09 gear you'll probably need to pay the latest 08/09 prices.

Thanks Pam. i'm looking at a North Face or Spyder Jacket, i'm assuming TK Maxx will not have those in stock  I've been trailing the web and it seems all stores sell the jackets for the same price give or take a few pence... Thanks for the suggestion though

Bowenag, The one in Dublin has womans & mens spyder jackets (Vail & another one) With matching pants. Also has great ACG gear Phlenx and a few Killy jackets

Bowenag, if your are looking for North Face gear they have a discount store in Bicester which sells surplus stock from the last couple of season about a 1/3 to 1/2 off retail price. You won't get this year's kit at discounted prices, but does it really change that much from year to year?

Are Ellis B still doing their pre-season sale days? They used to do them in Bristol and London (& Manchester?) around November time to flog old stock but not seen one for a while.

northantsred, fwiw, our family uses Tchibo for almost everything, from salopettes to jackets to socks ( very good vfm) and our favourite, cheap but effective sunglasses with interchangeable lenses. Ski January Europe as well as Easter and it works well.
Haven't gone for the gloves, as already have a pair of good pairs, but am very happy with the rest of their range.

jan Thanks. I did look on the news page of the Ellis Brigham site but couldn't see any planned. Shame as the Bristol one was handy, picked up some bargains there in the past.

EB and S&R have their cheapest prices during the summer months on the gear left over from the previous season. Now they have all their new stock in at premium prices. But S&R still have some discounted 07/08 gear listed on their website.
Bowenag, Watch out for fakes if you start trawling Ebay for cheap Spyder or North Face gear.
