Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

long stay car insurance?

Hi
We are looking at spending quite a lot of time in the alps this winter.
Trouble is - our car insurance says we can only take the car out of the country for 90 days in total during the year.
Does anyone know how we can extend this? Do some insurers offer special long stay deals - or does anyone have any advice please?

jayne durham, well, depends how old you are..... I changed back to Saga today and it seems that they allow any length trips, and any number of days overall. I telephoned and pushed the woman at the call centre pretty hard (as I found it hard to believe) and she absolutely insisted there was no limit.

jayne durham, you lucky thing !!! LV changed their rules this year and removed the 180 days from the policy without telling us, we moved to Belll, but I think we now have a 90 day limit too as we don't need any more.

Well finally I find reason to rejoice in having just hit the "more mature" skier category!
Will give Saga a ring.
Not all holiday Helen - but we do hope to get lots of skiing in this year! We are planning to leave the car at Geneva and fly back for chunks of time. Want to at least get lots of long weekends.
We'll see how it all works.
