Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Travel to the USA

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
From January 12th 2009 most visitors from the UK travelling to the US must register under the Visa waiver program using the new ESTA system (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation).

If you are on a flight from the UK and going to a US airport it all seems pretty straightforward and the information required is not a problem.

I need a bit of help and Im hoping that some of you who are in the travel industry may be able to help me.
The last couple of years we have flown to Canada, picked up our hire vehicles and drove across into the USA, this has not been a problem. This year we are again flying into Calgary and the next morning driving down to the border crossing at either Roosville or Carway/Piegan and over into Montana on our way down to Whitefish. Do I need to fill in the ESTA on-line registration document or do I just turn up at the border as in previous years ! Im confused.

On TV last night they were interviewing a few US southerners - they thought Obama was related to Osama & he was a marxist and a Muslim. So what chance have you got as a Scot wink

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

MUSKY, I was looking at this the other day. From memory, I think that ESTA only applies to people arriving in the US via air or sea. Road crossings should work as before - turn up and fill in your I94W if you are eligible for entry under the Visa Waiver Program. The information was on the website, so I'd double-check there rather than trusting my memory!

As I understood it when buying your airline ticket tour you must submit name & address which is enough for UK residents with a machine readable passport. I go in Mar so can anyone decipher the instructions with certainty Puzzled .
