Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing In germany help please...

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Went skiing last year to Andorra, we loved every minute. since then my mates have got into fast cars and I am trying to drag them away from the Nurburgring to re-kindle there love of skiing too.
I have had (What I think is) a brilliant idea of heading to the nurburgring for a few days then finishing the Holiday off with some skiing in Germany somewhere (or even France on the journey back to England). Travelling isn't an issue to a certain extent, so just looking for Good Pistes, Good hotels and Better Night life. Any help Will be muchly appreciated.

Thankyou snowHead

Obersdorf is the best IMHO, although the nightlife could not be said to be awesome, maybe you should look at carrying on for another 90 mins and heading to St Anton.

Garmisch, near Munich, is Germany's biggest resort.

Worth it for a coupla days.

Avoid weekends if poss.

Garmisch is a great place to ski. Not really the best spot for boarders...far too much traversing even if you know where to find the hidden stashes. The town is pretty cool, the beer is perfect and the food really isn't that expensive compared to much of europe. The scenery is excellent and the females that roll through town are super hot! Munich is only 1.25 hrs on the train and if you time it right, you could surely find some kind of beer festival going on somewhere. Definitely worth a visit and the crowds during the week aren't that bad at all.

Skiing in Germany is pretty limited. Oberbayern has a few small resorts, and Garmisch is pretty small beer. In the East there's Oberwiesental that's OK for a couple of days, and then there is the Harz which are far from snow sure (don't even think Oberhof!). Why not venture the 5km over the border into Austria and maybe go to the Steinplatte which has a run that actually finishes in Germany.

From the Nurburgring I'd have thought you'd be best off heading down the motorway to Basel and then to somewhere in Switzerland. Won't take you that long in fast cars Wink

Actually Switzerland would be a few miles shorter drive then Garmisch.

Plenty of choice up there!

Sauerland is much closer, but eehm.. I was 'done' there after a day, and i went to one of the biggest sauerland resorts (Winterberg) Smile
