Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow this morning in the Pyrenees

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Woke up this morning to crystal clear skies and snow down to approx 1300 metres, a great day to choose to help a friend splitting logs in the forest high up. It wont last long but the forecast for next week is showing even more. Too early to even contemplate saying whether this is a good omen, but it does bring a smile to my face.

UPDATED 28/10/08

Snowing heavily above 1300m, and likely to continue tonight and possibly tomorrow.

Excuse the pictures there is little visibility at the moment

Very Happy Very Happy

The old Grand Hotel has been rented out by Luchon and its new owners have been refurbishing it for the last two years or so. It is now called the Village Club Soleil where they provide a Club Med/All inclusive club style experience for French holiday makers.

There is full planning given for the old Anetto apartments next to this hotel to be completely transformed/renovated from next year. Very Happy

Ski Guide,

Actually you're right, it was Club Med not UCPA.. rolling eyes
Thanks for the update...last time I was in Super-Bagneres (early 90s) I got cocky on that famous black run (forgot the name) that starts really steep and took a mighty tumble! Embarassed Laughing

Heavy snow continued overnight with the snow line down to 700 metres. Temperatures are set to get colder with the possibility of a little more snow before increasing again.

More pictures later this morning:

Unfortunately there is cloud running along the valley so the pictures are not that good today however here is one of the west ridge running along the Luchon Valley. There is approx 25cm sitting on the ground at Superbagneres.
