Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Made a mistake flying to Innsbruck!!!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
As the Easyjet flights Bristol to Innsbruck were so cheap and good old Thomsonfly had changed the times of their flights to Salzburg, in my infinite wisdom I decided to book the Easyjet.

We're travelling to Maria Alm and it's only an extra 50 miles or so to get there from Innsbruck rather than Salzburg. But the prices of the transfers Shocked Last year we paid 99 euros each way from Salzburg to Maria Alm, the prices I'm getting from Innsbruck are more like 250 euros!!!!

So unless anyone has any suggestions (and I've checked out the links to Innsbruck Taxis) it's going to be the train for us. This means leaving our hotel at about 6 am on our last day....

And just to add insult to injury ThomsonFly have now changed the flight times back to where they were last year Mad

I've found one that is 195 Euros instead of 250, is still expensive, but better than nowt! It's www.eder-reisen-taxi.at . There are two other taxi companies on the tiscover for Maria Alm. They don't have websites, so might be smaller companies and may be cheaper.

Otherwise, the train isn't too bad. Or hire a care as masmith suggests.

Kruisler, yeah I find hire cars usually work out about £50-£70 per head, which fits in nicely with last years €99 transfer. It may not be everyones cup of tea though Crying or Very sad

If there are 4 or more of you travelling together by rail, you qualify for a good discount if you all travel on the same ticket. We did this from Salzburg to St Anton and it was about 30% off.

Thanks everyone. We'll probably end up getting the train (I was just trying to avoid the really early start on the return trip Sad ).

Yes, I've checked this out. If we buy one full-price ticket and pay an extra euro then the rest of the tickets are half-price. Bargain!

From Insbruck airport to downtown Maria alm for 22.60 euro per person each way full fare

Takes 2:30 hours... Involves a bus, a train and another bus.

I bought 3 tickets Salzburg to Bruck-Fusch (near Kaprun/Zell am See) and the discount was applied automagically... (not knowing about the discounted groups, so was suprised!)

One of the hire co's is doing astras for £130 a week if that's of any interest let me know and I'll track it down. I decided they were too small for our group and went for a minibus.
