Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Advice - ski resort close to Seattle

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, I'm looking for some advice on finding a decent resort close to Seattle. I'm going there on business in late January and fancied getting two or three days of skiing after I'm done. I've been trying to find out a bit on resorts close by, so far Crystal Mountain looks ok, though I'll have a car so a bit of a drive is not a problem. I'm an intermediate skier. Any advice on where to head to would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Crystal, Snowqualmie and Stevens will all fit your bill. I'd skip Alpental and Baker at your level although they are beautiful little area.

Mt Hood is a pretty extensive area (in a fabulous setting), and takes less time to get to that Whistler. It's also where I learnt to ski. snowHead

Fancy something different ? Try this http://www.mvsta.com/winter/mazmap.html. It's where I'm off to Boxing day for 10 days. Can't wait ! Skiing doesn't always have to be downhill / alpine you know (although I can't wait for that too but that's in Feb)

I'd reccommend Baker even for an intermediate. If you head there on a week day you will pretty much have the place to yourself. Great hill, friendly staff and seriously fun terrain!

Stevens and Baker both will keep someone entertained for a couple days. Crystal has some great terrain and as they mention Whistler is pretty close in western terms, just don't hit Vancouver at rush hour.
