Many years ago, but there is a little village just at the base of Sauze. Forgotten it's name and even the hotel but I know there were a couple of little places, that were cheap and cheerful. Awesome location. It's like part of the old town, if you look on a piste map it'll be the one directly below it. Definately recommend it.
Sauze rules (when you have the snow). Definately go back again!

charlieduff, snow_bum, I think the little village you mean is Jouvenceaux - there IS a little hotel there, about 7 minutes walk from the chair that takes you up to Sportinia, but I can't remember the name sorry - look up the Tourist Office and they should give you some accommodation info
Good Luck

charlieduff, Possibly the hotel is Des Amis. We stayed there 7 years ago and it was basic but very friendly and good hearty food.

charlieduff, We are going mid january for a long weekend (Thursday - Tuesday). Friends in the UK booked it with no real problem! We are staying in the Gran Trun! Been to Sauze 3 times, been to the Gran Trun nearly every night when going on the lash!!! Rooms look reasonable. Not looking for 5* luxury but just to let you know you can book places in Sauze by the day!
Enjoy your holiday!

The Assietta has taken 4 nights from us in the past, phone and speak to Barbara. It's right in centre of village. Actually, I've done 4 night stays in Sauxe at least 5 times in the last 8 years and only once had a problem getting somewhere. If all else fails, yopu could call Vince Hawkins at the Del Falco restaurant and ask him if he knows anywhere, he's found us a place a few times. But don't forget to eat in ther Del Falco a couple of times (You won't regret it).
