i am going with the family at esater for about 8/9 days and hope to get some MTBing in during this time, is there anywhere in Avoriaz.

Easter is a bit early maybe. Morzine is a hotbed of Brit mountain biking. You may find info on the Endlessride website

jase2472, At Easter you may be able to MTB lower down in the valley but hopefully not in Morzine/Avoriaz, we usually don't start MTBing until the 1st week of June.

jase2472, As snowandtrek, says no chance of it in Avoriaz! Skiing usualy to the end of April. You may be lucky in going down the valley towards Lake Geneva but not in Avoriaz and although Morzine does not have the same height as Avoriaz they do there damndest to keep as much as possible open, and they on the whole succeed although snow conditions may not be quite as good.

jase2472, I believe around the PdS in the summer is one of the best areas for mountain biking there is. They held WC in Les Gets a couple of years ago and during the summer there is a lot of bikers doing the trails etc. When on the lifts look down and you will see some of the raised trails they have built, I would say it must be good fun, if only I can get away during the summer!
