Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New Year suggestions

I know New Year is expensive and not the best bet for snow cover, but I usually go away somewhere for at least a few days and this year I thought "since I'm spending the money anyway, why not ski?"

So: me and the mrs were going to team up with two friends for New Year week in St Anton. However one of them has broken his ankle at basketball and although he's back walking, he's been told that skiing that early is not a good idea.

Should we:
- save the dosh and go later
- go for less than a week to reduce the amount of holiday used up
- go for the next week, leaving early on 2 Jan

We picked St Anton thinking it may have a better statistical chance of early snow, but any other suggestions?

Why is there no snowheads New Year bash???

horizon, ditch the friends and go, I'm sure you'll make some new ones....... wink

Seriously though, I'd have thought that going 1st week in Jan makes sense on a number of levels, not least cheaper and quieter. How quickly do the "experts" suggest it will take for your friend to get back to a level of recovery to ski again? From what I gather, not having been there, St Anton might be a tad on the demanding side for anyone that might prefer less challenging terrain given the injury?
