Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hintertux would almost certainly have more open than Tignes. But you might find a group of snowHeads in Tignes around that time.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

chect2000, just came back from the Mountain Sun trip (boot camp - but more of a ski camp this year). Contact Joanne at mountain sun for more info, and/or read the october Group post. Highly recommended.

chect2000, yes, kids are welcome. I did the boot camp last year in that half-term week. We got 2.5 days skiing, but lost half a day as the lifts were closed. I have a feeling that they were closed for a couple of days after we left too. I guess that is the same for all glaciers, but you need to be aware of possible problems in advance.

chect2000, Hintertux. Fastest uplift, more open, easier to get to, better accommodation. Or, as an alternative, look at Solden... got the opening world cup races on that week-end so will be buzzing.

Bode Swiller,

Hintertux vs Tignes.....

Hintertux. Fastest uplift

Puzzled Not if you're talking village to glacier it's not - unless the Gletscherbus has been upgraded and beats the 5 or 6 mins that the Tignes funicular takes? Toofy Grin

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

mountainaddict, Sure the funicular is fast but there is often a big queue (which makes a mockery of 5-6 mins), then you need the cable car to get to the very top (again, often queues and a wait). Hintertux on the other hand requires 3 fast gondolas from top to bottom and I can't emember the last time I had to wait. Once up there the top gondola affords more vertical in the shortest possible time and no waiting.
