Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

SKi Instruction Les Arcs

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I've never posted b4 mainly prefering to lurk!
But I have a bit of a question... My partner and i are going to Les Arcs in January and I'm wanting to get some opinions on Ski Instruction in I would guess Les Arcs 1600 ( we're staying just outside Bourg St Maurice)...

We both at a early intermediate stage and don't want to spend the entire week in ski school... to be honest after 3 days my brains absorbed enough! We're both quite intrepid, but I definately can lack confidence...

Any recomendations??Puzzled

Liberatespace, welcome to snowHeads Smile

If you are looking for one or more private lessons for you and your partner you could try the Brit-run New Generation ski school. They are based in Vallandry, but it is easy to get there from Arc 1600 providing you don't book the first lesson of the day (which tend to be group lessons in any case). I've skied with two of the instructors in NewGen, John Thomas and Ruth Mosely, and happily recommend both of them. More info here.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Got to second above recommendation. Don't know Ruth Mosely, but had private lessons jan 08 with John Thomas. Two grown up intermediates and 1 nerveless 13 year old. He is a really nice bloke and has a down to earth, un-technical style of teaching. it can't be easy pitching lessons at 3 very different characters at the same time, but he made it seem effortless. To sum up your money would be well spent and you would, i'm sure come on in leaps and bounds. Btw we have no connection with this company other than being satisfied customers!!

And thirded! John Thomas is a really good instructor. He taught my technical group on a Snoworks course a couple of seasons ago and was excellent, despite appalling weather conditions on the Tignes glacier.
