Looks like I might be working in Friedrichshafen for the winter season. Anyone got ideas on the best, closest resorts.?

The train to st anton or up into the montafon valley are both easy and cheap. There are other resorts even closer in the Bregenzer Wald, but I'm not sure what they are like. I am very jealous though and keen to make the same move myself!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

stevev,
Just seen a ski Mag in WH Smith today (can't remember which one as I was browsing a selection......might even have been FHM ) which has a full page ad for Friedrichshafen airport - and which boasts that it's got 50 "international " ski resorts within striking distance. There's a map showing the resorts - which (I think) might have covered 4 countries ie Germany, Austria, Switzerland & Leichtenstein.
Looks like you'll be spoilt for choice....

Bit of a setback this afternoon, the first company turned me down Still got two more chances in a place just down the road so not defeated just yet. The j2ski link above shows loads, some of them pretty small but ok for a day out

Cracking spot. As moutainaddict says loads of skiing within easy reach by road and rail. Lovely spot in summer too. Leichtenstein is supposed to be amazing too for skiing but a well kept secret
