Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hat and goggles problems

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
On those cold/snowy days that require both hat and goggles to be worn, I keep getting a gap between the two in the forehead area. Does anyone have any techniques or tips that can help stop this happening?

freestyleandy, are you pulling our legs or what? Laughing wink

You need a thinnish hat and pull the hat down lower at the front and put the goggle rim over the top of it. Buy a bigger hat if this doesn't work or it leaves your neck exposed. Or buy a helmet you don't get that problem with helmets. Toofy Grin

freestyleandy, by the way I always thought that if I put my goggles over the top of the edge of my hat then they would steam up or something so I haven't ever tried it in case this happened. Apparently not though, because while I was reading Ski & Board this morning out of my SCGB membership pack I noticed that a very well known BASI Trainer had his goggles slightly over his hat (whilst skiing, not just stood). I noticed this because I was wondering where he got the hat from so I could get one. wink Laughing So it appears it can be done without problems and would eliminate your space problem you describe. freestyleandy, what glove technique thread? Haven't seen that one. Will have a look. I was very suspicious that a skier of your calibre would be asking such a thing as you could tell. wink Alas the goggle over the hat technique can be done as I have evidenced! Laughing

I heard the bigger the gap the cooler you are. The bigger the wind burn stripe the better.

and stab says it's the new black. Please say this is TRUE and make a reluctant gaper happy.Toofy Grin

(I never wear goggles when it's sunny, only sunnies, so at least zebra stripes are not an issue. Toofy Grin)
