Hey Hey, I knew it wouldn't take long - they're the ones that were for sale the other week, yes?
Were they just brilliant - doesn't it feel good?
Well done you - wish you well to use them.

Yes I bought them from RogerC yesterday, and yes, it does feel good! My Christmas pressie - just a fraction early!

That's all very well, but also remember that you can overdo it - avoid out of control snowboarders if you can - my skis got wrecked in a single altercation!
N.B. Not surprised here though - I knew you'd decided to get them when you posted about poles the other day

I'm sure they didn't, Megamum, they just acquired character.
Congrats, Butterfly.

Congratulations may they bring you many happy days under foot and keep you safe. In all accidents may the snowboarder be the one that ends up worst off and treat them nice as they look after you!

Butterfly, B.t.w I like that grey and white colour scheme when I first saw them too - grey and white skis abstract patterned skis look so classy - not tooooo girly (like those covered in flowers), just classy!!

Butterfly, I am suitably jealous . . . enjoy your new skis

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Now you just need to nip across to see Spyderjon - get them tuned and buy all the gear

You know it makes sense.

I'm sure Butterfly has more sense than to go out and buy a whole lot of gear to coordinate with her skis. Being completely colour-coordinated is just too sad.

IncogSkiSno, thanks.
Ah, questions questions!!
RogerC already had done the edges and applied storage wax - EB at MK kindly removed the storage wax for me and set the bindings up without charge! Spyderjon's in Nottingham - is that right? Might take a trip there sometime before next season - good thinking that!
Colours - hmm not too bad - boots are white, but oh dear - salopettes black, jacket red.......!! There's a rather fetching apricot colour on the skis - do you think I need a new outfit before I can be seen again in public or do you think red/black/white striped poles would link it all together?

If you go for that be careful not to stand still for too long, you'll have a line of long haired blokes start to form next to you

Match what? Butterfly could choose white, black, apricot or red and match something.
Butterfly, we did Spyderjon's course - well worth while as we ski all season and do the skis a lot. But if you're just skiing a week or so a year, it would probably be a lot cheaper and easier just to get your skis serviced in a shop.

IIRC Butterfly has a white or cream helmet - that should be a fair match to her new skis. I was only joking about buying the gear to do her new skis, but the visit to Spyderjon is interesting in its own right - you learn a lot about your own skis and about how and why they do what they do and you get a hot wax treatment for them which I guess you may not get on a shops machine system (though I don't know if it can be hot with these systems). I just thought it was nice to treat the skis once and its a good ski-y type trip in the middle of the summer when you have snow withdrawal symptoms - gives you a chance to get the skis out and look at them too

Megamum, completely agree that it's an enjoyable and interesting session - just that it's not the most cost-effective option for anybody who wants to make their limited funds go a long way.

Butterfly, congrats on your purchase. DIY tuning, depending on the amount you ski &/or your performance requirements, is not always practical so for those folks I offer a tuning service that many other snowheads in that situation use - some on a 'while you wait' basis whilst others go off shopping in Nottingham & collect their skis later in the day.
