Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Need to get hold of one for shredding at Tamworth and MK so has anyone got any suggestions on good value shops before I head to Ebay?
Looking at one of the Bern, Pro-Tec or R.E.D. ones. Don't want to spend a fortune so about £45-£50 is tops.

Specialman, I'm sure that Bargain boards had helmets from those ranges when I last looked

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

This Pro-Tec was about that at normal retail

Specialman, I may be wrong but I'd say if you want protection from a helmet I wouldn't consider buying one second-hand (due to the possibility of damage). If you don't care for it's protection and just need it to pass some sort of "required equipment" list then you could get a bargain on ebay. It's your head so I'll let you decide what you want snowHead .

Megamum, seen a couple on there but didn't know if I could get them cheaper beinga tight-wad norherner!!!! Smile

Mosha Marc, good find. Really like the Pro-Tec ones. Found a bright green one (to match my jacket), new on Ebay for £40 but it was too small. Will have to go for the dark one, as me enormous bonce needs an XL - must stop taking in all this useless info on the Weakest link!!! Smile

peura, only look at new ones on ebay from shops. Should have made that clear.

Specialman, Very Happy no worries, just thought I'd mention it. I've not formed a strong opinion either way but if I decided I really needed one (I don't currently have one) to protect my head I wouldn't get it second hand. Same for any protective equipment really; climbing ropes, riding helmets, back protectors...

peura, I think it's a sensible option. I know there's little that makes a helmet but like any protective gear, you just don't know what secondhand stuff has been through.

Been going on about getting a helmet for ages so thought i might as well bite the bullet. Think I'll get more reasusrance from one than the back bottom protector shorts that let me down when i took a tumble and knackered my coccyx!!

Mosha Marc, liked the white better but XL is too big. Baby blue has a certain quality to it...
