Its allready in the ticket price if you look at the breakdown but it goes up November 1st.

this is not Schipol specific, but I love how airports inconvenience their passengers with lots of pointless checks at understaffed areas and then charge us for this! i did think that Schipol had a particularly rubbish system for security - ie at the gate. i like to get security out of the way then enjoy the free booze in the lounge until the last possible minute before i get on a flight

I really hate Schipol. Not because of the airport but because the U.K. can't fricking join the Schengen. You lot cause me endless inconvenience!

Arno, doesn't that "security at the gate" stuff only apply to Cityhoppers coming back to Blighty? I came through yesterday to get here (Denmark) and once through the mighty "non-schengen" queue followed by security between the D and B gates there was no further security. So lounge it was

Yoda, this was a flight back to London. i was actually coming back from Amsterdam rather than changing there so don't know whether my experience was typical

Arno, the KLM lounge quality depends on which side of the schengen barrier you're on - in my view the two on the Brit side are not as good as that on this side. None of them as good as BA and Virgin lounges it's true.

Schiphol is great. The new charges are OTT thats why we go to Dusseldorf, Brussels etc.

Back in the KLM lounge at Schiphol now. There has been one improvement since I was here last , wifi access is now free, last time they had the nerve to charge for it. Wifi in the Radisson chain in Denmark is also free, for those fed up with the rip-off prices charged by the likes of Hilton, Marriott etc.
