Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hen weekend help required!!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi
I'm trying to organise a ski hen weekend for a friend and struggling - there are 18 of us, and we would prefer either Sauze d'Oulx, Kitzbuhel, or perhaps Val D'Isere , 29th Jan 09 to 1st Feb (3 nights), or 2 nights Fri - Sun if that's not possible. We would like either room-only in a hotel or a non-catered chalet ideally. We will sort out our own flights (as we're coming from London, Scotland and the Midlands) but it's proving difficult to find an accomodation/transfer deal that everyone will be able to afford! I'm getting quite flexible now just to try and get something booked! Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Any ideas on packages that may be available?
Thanks!

The dates are fixed..

holmes, Thurs/Fri to Sun for 18 people - dificult.

You may want to think about staying in Salzburg or Innsbruck as a city break (easier to get hotels) and ski the closest resorts on each day (10 - 45 mins transfer depending what you want), lashing it up apres style after skiing in the resort and then heading back to the city for some clubbing

holmes, I would agree with rayscoops, fly to Salzburg or Innsbruck ( I would recommend Innsbruck) and ski the local areas. You will struggle to get a booking in a resort for 18 people over a long weekend. However, going to Innsbruck for example will be good for nightlife as well. You also don't need to worry about transfers using this approach, as you will only need to travel 10 minutes from the airport. Transfers to resorts each day are by bus or tram.

holmes, Why don't you come here - I'm sure you could get into the Lutins for that period, and it would fit the bill. (I know .....)

Switzerland has by far the best offline and online infrastructure for coping with short-term and large-group stays.

Go to Verbier or Zermatt by train from Geneva.

Stay in rented private apartments or hotels. You will probably need several.

Enjoy.

holmes, one problem you will have is that those companies who offer "weekend" skiing typically charge handsomely for doing so.

However, all is not lost. You aren't breaking into UK half term nor French vacances scolaires (otherwise it would probably be a hopeless exercise).

Try some smaller 3* hotels directly. Or think slightly "out of" resort. For example, http://www.orangeriemontblanc.fr/ is only about 30 minutes from Chamonix centre and has a really, really good restaurant.
