Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

im just about to book for whistler and the prices are quite steep but we have found somewhere we can afford called glacier hotel. it says it is in the blackcomb willage and not whistler and im a bit worried all the nightlife is in whistler. is the distance between the two far? should i look for somewhere in whistler village instead for better nightlife?

try looking at places by the whistler marketplace, I stayed there in january and was really happy with it while not paying the in-town prices. it's close to the IGA and a short walk to the pub. marketplace lodge i think it was that we stayed in.

If you mean Glacier Lodge at Blackcomb, I've stayed there and its pretty decent - I'd recommend it. And it's a lovely 5 min walk through a park and across river to Whistler. Or a free bus, but it's not exactly a trans-continental hike! (and 150m to Blackcomb lifts).

Another advantage is that Blackcomb slopes are a lot quieter than Whistler's. Also skiing between the two is really easy.

shapes, we got some decent accommodation with hot-tub on the terrace at Glaciers Reach which is in Village North, and just opposit ethe bus stop. It isn't too bad a walk into the main town in the evening, and is close to the supermarket. Have a look at www.alluradirect.com for privately owned condos/apartments

This link takes you to the accomodation maps on the Whistler web site where you can see the location of the various places. Blackcomb is called the Upper Village on the site

shapes,

If you check out the listings you'll see 3 Glacier somethings. Glacier Lodge is the best location by far, opposite the Chateau Whistler. It's a condo type place, I've stayed there (2 persons - twin king size beds!) and it is ideally situated and you can get a great breakfast in the attached Bar. Also got a pool and hot tub.

shapes,

We've stayed in the Glacier Lodge twice, and will be back there next March. It's conveniently placed for Blackcomb base, and only a short walk from the main Village. It's also right next door to the only liquor store that's open on Sunday (rather important if you arrive late on a Saturday night, after the stores close).
