Where the heck do I start!? Would like to go to either U.S (one of the bigger resorts, J. Hole etc.) or preferably Canada (Whistler, Banff etc.).
Easter time is the hope, figured it would be cheaper to look now then later... So ya.. any help, appreciated. Would fly out from any London airport really.

Cheap is not Whistler or J Hole, how about the Salt Lake Area but less skier type apres than your two selections. Best bet is finding the cheap lodging which is not always the sight you want to see at the end of the day.
At least in N. America interest in skiing starts to fall off in March which gives the rest of more piste.

Timmaah, from the Uk your cheapest will always be gateway Calgary for Banff Jasper Fernie Panorma etc - utilising the charter. I reckon this charter is almost full now but it will keep costs down by around £300.00 pp when comparing to schedule flights and the US. Most trans atlantic flights are around £600.00 pp upwards and then at Easter they load the prices by another £150.00-250.00 pp. If you can just avoid the spiked dates you will save but if you have children with school commitments then you will pay the higher rates. Jackson will come up cheaper than Whistler and I always seem to find Jackson cheaper than Park City when adding up the flights, transfers, accommodation etc.

Killington, Vermont, is the nearest big resort to London.

At Killington you have to deal with East Coast snow.

we had a really cheap trip last feb flying to spokane in washington state via chicago with american airlines then driving across the border into BC (2 hours) up to Rossland to ski red mountain. red is awesome, the flight was cheap (£380) and rossland has very reasonable accom. The only thing is it takes about 20 hours to come back, but its worth it!!!!

It's not even clear Killington will even be open at Easter time. Never mind questionable snow in mid-late April.
Someone forgets to look at the calendar!

True, and many areas offer deals (lodging and end of season passes) to drum up demand in late March & April.

One idea is to book to Denver if you can get a cheap, direct international flight. Could then hold off on specific resort & lodging and see what deals come up. CO areas have high altitude with some usually open late or you could look to buy a domestic flight later if skiing/deals look better elsewhere.
