Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The Stash, New Zealand, opens this weekend

The Stash at The Remarkables has its grand opening this weekend. Work on the park started back in February this year. And, this Saturday all the work will come to fruition when international riders from the Burton Rider Team arrive in Queenstown to try it out. The Stash is a kilometre long run providing riders and freestyle skiers with an organic, big mountain terrain park that follows the natural lines of the mountain. Located in the bowls of Serpentine and the Galleries trails, The Stash is aimed at intermediate and advanced riders. ...The Stash can also be found in Avoriaz, France and Northstar-at-Tahoe, USA.

^ seems to be in 3 continents actually, at least if that NZ website is correct - The Stash website is appalling though and I gave up without gleaning any information whatsoever!

The Stash in Avoriaz was somewhat embarrassing as (allegedly) no-one except the creators could ride it. Hardly public friendly...

The one at Remarkables is about the same according to friends who work over there (across the valley; i'm teaching at Coronet ). Most of the features are way out of the league of most visitors and ski patrol are not happy from what i've been hearing - something to do with a large gap jump over a hut!! Still might just have to head up on a day off and watch other people risk their necks.
