Arc'teryx make brilliant gear, but they do come in some cr*ppy colors.

Probably one of the few ski clothes companys that can still justify there prices (even discounted) by not producing with dirt cheap labour in China,Vietnam etc & maintaining there main manufacturing facilities in Vancouver !

stanton,
I think you will find quite a lot of their stuff made in China... not sure under what conditions, but the days of ALL Arc'teryx kit made state-side have long gone

JT, ... the Sidewinder SV is still made in Canada as far as I know ... (May 2008) ... plus one or two others ....
... that's the only reason I posted this ... I have sort of boycotted all things Chinese ..... except local Chow Mein ...

BernardC,
I think you have to look on the item... I think most stuff in the US market is made in NA, in the UK, so not clear.
I agree with you about buying locally. The salaries of locally made kit (western ) can in some way justify the UK price but how you get £300 for kit made in China when the workers/manufacturers have nothing like the the overheads of the west...??????
Anyway, that is a pet theme of mine. I think this maunfacturer does indeed make good well thought-out stuff tho'
