Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

There's one in the Lake District, the only one in the UK, that's supposed to be great fun. It's up near Skidaw I think.

I've done the ones around Engelberg including the Fürenwand - that was bloody scary!

I've got the "Via Ferrata Switzerland" book from Iris Kürschner and the Mürren Klettersteig isn't mentioned, it appears this only opened this year?

I'd agree with the Times description on the level of challange: if you're OK doing walking/hiking in the hills, you'd probably be fine on this Via Ferrata (and take a guide if it's your first time).

The Italian Dolomites are the home of Via Ferrata, so if you get a taste for it, head there for a week.

hbunny is right though if you want to do it properly head to the Dolomites, spent 5 weeks there in 2005 climbing, mountaineering and doing VFs, amazing place.

Swirly, sure it is... that Chris Craggs? He may have been up and down a few boulders in't Peak(s) but what has the soft-southern-sandstone booger ever none on snow?
