Any women got these? Mrs Ise wants some new skis and these are cheap at the supermarket this week.

Not sure how this differs from Saphir Snow which my Lady used last year.
Lacking confidence normally, she became a speed crazy, happy skier!
Sorry cannot give more detailed an account, but it was a few months now...
Am looking at her testing similar this winter.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Chris M-J, thanks that's useful. The chances are the supermarket will have sold out when we get there this evening. I'd be dubious about buying something I'd not tested but at the the price they have it's tempting, I really, really want Mrs Ise to have some new skis.

ise, we're just back from Stowe VT, and the Saphir 2s were an absolute horror on icy surfaces. The tip and tail would visibly (we have it on video!) let go out of a turn, even before there was significant pressure on the middle of the ski. Embarassing, too, as they were just purchased at the end of last season, skied for 1 day in slush and now this . . . Skier weight wasn't really an issue- the ski wasn't even decambered when it let go! So, now we're looking for a Nordica Speedmachine 12 or Omecarve 9 for her. 145 lbs 5'7" level 5 skier in one of the Epicski classes. 153cm, freshly tuned & deburred.
PS, she did demo, but she demoed the top Saphir 1 model then bought these based on price . . .

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

OK, didn't think the length was right that the supermarket had left anyway. I'd not have expected them to be in the same class as an Omecarve 9 though, I've skied the 9 and 10 and I thought they were brutal skis.
PS the supermarket did have a special on a local wine so I bought that instead

ise, I bought some last year. I love them, and not only for the pretty flowers!

Carrefour were knocking them out at 370chf with bindings which is a steal, but they have a normal price of only 470 anyway which is still cheaper than migros. If Mrs Ise can try them and likes them we may still get them anyway at that price.

ise, like Mrs Chris M_J., i lacked confidence and found them so easy to ski on I forgot to slow down !!!! Still can't keep up with the kids though. Not sure if they're 1's or 2's though. I originally tried them in Canada but they only did the one model then.

ise, they aren't in the same class, at all, even though Ski Presse put the Saphir 1 almost next to the Ome 9 in their tests. The recommendation was from the instructor.
Try to twist the ski (Saphir Fun 2) with one hand on the shovel and one on the binding plate and see if you'd be comfortable with that flex. You might well be, esp. if you don't see the sort of hardpack we did this weekend.
