Poster: A snowHead

I am still mulling over which skis to buy, I was set on either the Scott Punishers or Neos (which were winning by a nose)
I have tested the Punishers and the Neos and loved them but I noticed the CXs are conciderably cheaper.
Have you tried them?
Are they a decent ski or is it worth puting some more cash in the piggy bank and go for the more pricey ski?

I have skied both the CX and Neo and depending on your ability you pay for what you get. The CX is aimed at the aspiring beginner to intermediate skier who will be staying mainly on piste. Very forgiving with quite a soft flex. At the other end you have the Neo which is an All Mountain ski with a dual radius and titanium layer making it a more suitable ski for good intermediate to advanced abilities - It loves being pushed to it's limit (which I couldn't get to!). A great ski that won ski of the year in France last year (according to the French rental station I was hiring from). I hear the graphics are much stronger for next year as well.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

marky, Thanks for that. The CX will have to be crossed off the list.
Now I'll spend sleepless nights deciding or Punishers or Neos.
I think I'll have to test them both again.

next years neos look awesome! to throw another ski into the mix, thats a bit of a combo of the two (ie stiffness of neo, width of punisher, that was from the mouth of herve, who is in charge of scott skis!) get the scott crusade! railed nicely and felt super stable underfoot, but really nice and floaty in soft snow and predictable in rutted soft snow, where you don't know where your nose is going to get caught

Hi Hirsty
You don't say what your ski ability is, but if you managed the Neo's with ease
it would be worth a bash on the Crusade
What sort of terrain do you like skiing.

I would class myself as on the cusp of being advanced - not ski instructor level but comfortable on most runs up to double diamond blacks.
I tend to ski 70% on piste 30% off piste but this is shifting more towards off piste every trip. It is probably fair to describe me as a "slackcountry" skier as I'm too lazy to hike around too much.

I would go Crusade Crusade Crusade
Insanley quick on piste, nice and stiff and stable and the bonus is
They ski Off Piste too

you've made a very good choice. It was shocking that we sold so few of those during the season, considering the success of the aztec pro, mission etc. The in joke was the colour even Herve admitted that it may of been a little bit too out there to premiere the ski with, when he came to ski with us EB bods on our ski test. But a very fun ski!

I really quite like the topsheet.
Mind you I did have a Spirograph when I was a child.
