Thanks for that, just booked with Flybe from the Isle of Man to Geneva for a group of seven. £141.88 each including baggage charge, which is less than half what we paid last year. Pays to book early!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Also just booked IOM-GVA for £156 each all in. From the IOM this is a good deal and is also much easier than changing planes at a UK airport with all the possibilities of fog etc to trip you up.
Now to decide which resort

Flybe luggage rules
Note for skis:
Quote: |
Skis may be pre-booked within 24 hours of making your flight booking through the Customer Call centre and will be charged at GBP20.00, EUR28.00, CHF48.00 per set per sector. There is a limit on the amount of skis that can be carried which is dependant on the aircraft type:
* Bombardier Q400 10 sets of skis (Max length 1.67m / 5.6ft)
* BAe 146 40 sets of skis (Max length 2.5m / 8.2ft)
* Boeing 737 40 sets of skis (Max length 3m / 10ft)
* Embraer 195 25 sets of skis (Max length 2.5m / 8.2ft)
In the event that our ski or golf club numbers have already been reached on your flights then you can cancel your booking with no penalty within 24 hours of making your booking. |
So, £40 return for the skis - and many skis will not be allowed on a Bombardier aircraft which I have flown in flying to Berne en route to Wengen. Not sure how you are supposed to know if your route will use Bombardiers.

When you phone up they look at which plane is planned on that route before taking your money

10 sets of skis is one thing but max length 1.67 makes it even more interesting. Of course they could always use a roofbox.

FenlandSkier, yup - I meant manny skis would exceed 1.67m (mine do). I congratulate you on a very practical solution to the problem, though.
Chris Brookes, so you can't book on line without first phoning flybe.

So you book your seats on line. Then ring up to book your skis. Then find they won't fit the aircraft on your flight because it's a Bomabrdier? Rules out flybe for me.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I wouldn't worry too much about the max length - I had the same concerns when I flew with them last year from Soton to Chambery.
We were on a Q400 and our boards were ok.
The website also says snowboards are taken on standby, but we pre-booked them OK.
